why black is the perfect holiday neutral

|| Leggings || Booties || Fur Vest || Lace Blouse || Rebecca Minkoff Bag: S/O : Similar ||

I'm a sucker for all black everything...with a pop. My mom is constantly telling me there are different color scales beside the gray scale.  I'm rarely interested in them haha... Reasons black is the best flipping neutral?  Well the possibilities are endless, let's just start there.

If your holidays are anything like mine, you are on the go for most of it.  Whether it's a family or friends' extravaganza you are going or you are there. So what do I turn to? But of course, black.

When you are wearing black, you'll never hear yourself saying, "does this match?"  Whatever the skin tone, black has your back and will compliment you, beautifully. The layering is endless, you can go wild with accessories and as for texture-anything. Try it all...these possibilities all play into creating that pop, I was talking about. All seasons- black is a yes.

Last but certainly, not least...the question, "does it ever go out of style?" Nope! If you need more of a reason than that alone, you can't sit with us. Well, okay maybe you can, but just because it is the holidays! But, seriously, remember...black is your friend and won't let you down!  Best of luck finding that chic holiday outfit you have been in search for!
Happy Holidays, darlings! I hope it is filled with lots of love and laughter!

Melody

Black + Blonde

Fall colors with weather temperatures...I could live like this forever!! I adore this outfit too by the way, a little edge, a little cozy, and a little boho. Whether it's layering necklaces and bangles, tops and sweaters or full skirts and prints - I am into it! And fall is the perfect season to show that layering off! Ya know, before everything is covered up by our winter coats! Bluuhh (don't remind me) ...although I do love a good snow day...I  am not a fan of the bitter cold and in PA, it gets bitter cold.
Anyways, I am focusing on the positive- a wardrobe change! I included links below to some of my wish list sweaters for this season.
This time of the year I look for those rich earth tones, deep cool colors and timeless prints (gingham, plaid, animal print, herringbone, stripes, & polka dots). For fabrics I love cable knits, wool, tweed, and cashmere..to name a few.

Tory Burch- Plaid
 Anthropologie -Faux Fur-Trendy Piece
White + Warren - Leopard
LuLu's - Tan

Stay tuned for some more winter wardrobe wisdom & keep an eye out to see how I layer up in my posts to come!

These past couple of weeks have been crazy busy but filled with love. I've attended both, bridal showers and weddings. One being my brother's wedding which I was honored to be in. I wore this little number to my one girlfriend's wedding and got to thinking about what my must haves are to carry in my clutch. It's not like my every day bag where I literally have my entire life. It's like survivor if I was stranded on a deserted island what would I take with me...ok maybe that's a little dramatic. But seriously, us gals can have a lot of stuff so I've narrowed it down to my top 5 maybe 10 things, I always pack in my clutch. So next time you are getting ready for a wedding or a date night here is your survival kit on what may just save your evening.

1. ID... I know you are thinking duh, but you wouldn't believe the stories
I have about forgetting my ID.
2. Cash or Card, somehow I never forget this haha
3. Keys...a little trick I have is to have a quick latch on my keys where I only take the important ones. This leaves more room in my clutch/bag and prevents it from looking lumpy.
4. Lip Gloss and Chapstick...I like to have both.
5. Mascara...brighten up the eyes.
6. Tinted Powder...keep my face fresh.
7. Gum or Mints
8. Small Perfume Bottle
9. Bobbing Pins/Hair Tie
10. Safety Pin/Clear Nail Polish
If you there are any MUST HAVES that I missed that you always pack in your bag please share!
