why black is the perfect holiday neutral

I'm a sucker for all black everything...with a pop. My mom is constantly telling me there are different color scales beside the gray scale.  I'm rarely interested in them haha... Reasons black is the best flipping neutral?  Well the possibilities are endless, let's just start there.

If your holidays are anything like mine, you are on the go for most of it.  Whether it's a family or friends' extravaganza you are going or you are there. So what do I turn to? But of course, black.

When you are wearing black, you'll never hear yourself saying, "does this match?"  Whatever the skin tone, black has your back and will compliment you, beautifully. The layering is endless, you can go wild with accessories and as for texture-anything. Try it all...these possibilities all play into creating that pop, I was talking about. All seasons- black is a yes.

Last but certainly, not least...the question, "does it ever go out of style?" Nope! If you need more of a reason than that alone, you can't sit with us. Well, okay maybe you can, but just because it is the holidays! But, seriously, remember...black is your friend and won't let you down!  Best of luck finding that chic holiday outfit you have been in search for!
Happy Holidays, darlings! I hope it is filled with lots of love and laughter!

Fashionably Late

If you can't beat the heat, mine as well embrace it, right?? Here's to Winter being fashionably late!!!
This shoot was such a blast!! It reminded me of how much I truly enjoy doing this blog. I love sharing inspiration with you all.  What's on the inside counts more than anything and style is a way to express a little bit about ourselves. Life can be so stressful and weigh us down if we aren't careful.  It's so important to keep things lighthearted and remember to embrace life as much as possible.  Hope this fun post brought a smile to your Monday...there are some serious candids in here! haha

Thankful

Thanksgiving...

This post is more about inspiration than where to find this look (if you want to know where I found these pieces just message me or comment below).  This may inspire an outfit choice for your holiday season or give you inspiration to take a deeper look. Whichever is fine but, I wanted to share how I am inspired through the holiday season.

Now don't get me wrong, you know, I love a good ensemble and, I love me some turkey and, trimmings. Especially, stuffing! haha  BUT this time of year always makes me take a closer look and reflect on all the good, that has come into my life over the past year. Sure, it is easy to point out the bad, what could of been better, or get caught up in the day to day.  I promise though once you start focusing on the good things; is when your life changes and your perspective of life changes.

There are so many things to be grateful and thankful for. The more you pay attention to that, the more you are able to give and receive. Life truly blesses us everyday, we just have to make sure we are paying attention.

During this time of year, I write a new gratitude list. It truly fills your heart to see (it in writing ) how amazing life can be. I am so happy through the holidays because I am surrounded by those I love the most, so it is a perfect time for me to write a new gratitude list. I choose this happy peak to write my new list, so there is little negativity to cloud my thoughts.

Having this list is a life saver at times. It is that friendly reminder through the year; that is it a bad day, not a bad life. The simplicity of that is so refreshing and brings me to peace. This list yet such a small gesture can make such a big difference. I hope this inspires you to make a gratitude list this season long or short; I promise you won't regret it!

I'll leave you with my favorite verse from a country song, that is also a year round reminder of the kind of life and love I want to give and receive.

....Be a best friend,
tell the truth,
and overuse I love you,
go to work,
do your best,
don't outsmart your commonsense,
never let your prayin' knees get lazy
and love like crazy...

Happy Thanksgiving loves!
